St Brigid’s College promotes a learning environment in which students are inspired and challenged to reach their greatest potential within a Catholic context. All students are valued and encouraged to strive to become independent learners with the capabilities to apply knowledge and skills as they are challenged to make a positive contribution to global society in the twenty first century.
Our children belong to a rapidly changing culture which presents both challenges and opportunities. The Melbourne Declaration (2008) for Education identified two core aims that align strongly with the St Brigid’s vision for education, being that:
Australian schooling promotes equity and excellence, and
All young Australians become successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens.
The St Brigid’s College curriculum encourages students to develop their knowledge of themselves, the community in which they live, the world at large, and a deeper understanding of the global humanity of which they are part.
