Year 12 Biology students headed to University of Melbourne to participate in a Laboratory Session with 120 other students from across the state! Students completed two laboratory classes exploring the impact of natural selection on the wings of Drosophila through comparing change over 15 generations of wings under the microscope. After this, students also had the opportunity to perform an Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay looking for antibodies present for influenza in a variety of samples from individuals.
