Wrapping up Term 2!

As a wrap-up to their Food and Culture unit, Year 8 Japanese students gave eating with chopsticks a go. Those who had never used chopsticks were quite surprised by how much motor skill and concentration it required. However, after showing amazing perseverance, some of them were picking up M&Ms, which even Mrs Cross finds hard!

In Year 10 Science, students created quirky, colourful, and wonderfully diverse veggie offspring, each with a unique genetic makeup, just like in real life! These creative characters are not only a fun expression of student learning, but also a hands-on way to bring key genetic concepts to life. Using their understanding of dominant and recessive alleles, genotypes, phenotypes, and inherited traits, students determined the possible offspring from just two "veggie parents" and brought these babies to life!

Textiles students completed their projects! During the semester, Year 7 students explored design thinking and developed new sewing skills through their projects of canvas bags and 'ugly dolls'. Year 8/9 Textiles Elective students designed and made their own quilts and cosy dressing gowns.

Our Senior Boys Basketball team braved the fog and fierce competition in Ararat, earning themselves a spot in the semi-finals with strong performances across the day. Congratulations to all team members on their efforts throughout the day.
