This week, Year 11 students spent 3 days in Melbourne for the Year 11 Street Retreat. It was a jam-packed itinerary filled with various social justice, arts, culture, and entertainment activities!
On Monday, students attended a City Walk facilitated by The Intersection Urban Learning. The session encouraged students to challenge assumptions and reflect on the impact of 'single stories' in shaping our views of others.
Students also visited the Melbourne University campus, and had a tour of residential College, Newman College. This experience offered our students a glimpse into university life and encouraged them to consider their future pathways.
Throughout their time in the city, students were given free time to navigate public spaces independently, building valuable skills in time management and navigation, as they were required to meet the group at designated times.
Other highlights of the trip included the Eureka Skydeck, THE LUME, ACMI Exhibition, VCE Top Designs exhibition, escape rooms and a games arcade.
